Why we exist

Walk the industrial-repair market as a customer and you'll find the same experience everywhere: no prices published, a quote that takes days, turnaround measured in weeks, and warranty terms that change depending on which page you read. Meanwhile your machine is down, and downtime in US plants averages six figures per hour.

Control Board Lab was built to be the opposite of that: published flat prices you can buy online for repairs with bounded failure modes, free evaluations with firm quotes where honesty requires a bench look first, 3–5 day standard bench time, and one 24-month warranty stated the same way on every page.

The lab

We operate from a working electronics bench in Arlington, Texas — the same facility that runs a national mail-in repair program for automotive control modules, processing units shipped in daily from all fifty states. Control Board Lab is the industrial division of that operation: same component-level rework discipline — microsoldering, power-stage replacement, full recapping, functional test before return — pointed at HMIs, drives, PLCs, and the rest of the plant floor.

What we believe about repair

• Say the price. If a failure set is bounded, publish one number and honor it.
• Never oversell the bench. If we can't fully validate a repair (big infeed modules, shared-bus racks), we say so and decline — an under-tested repair on your production line is a debt, not a sale.
• The evaluation is free and the verdict is honest — including "this isn't worth repairing" and "this fault is in your motor, not the drive."
• Your program is sacred. Applications, parameters, and configurations are preserved through every repair.

Independent, and clear about it

We are an independent service company — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized service center for any manufacturer named on this site. That independence is the point: it's what lets us service the discontinued hardware the OEMs have moved on from.
